TU BISHVAT - New Year of the trees

Tu B'Shvat is the New Year for trees.
Tu Bishvat occurrs on the 15th day of the Hebrew month Shevat . It is also called Rosh HaShanah La'Ilanot (ראש השנה לאילנות), literally 'New Year of the Trees'.
Nowadays in Israel, the day is celebrated as an ecological awareness day, and trees are planted in celebration.
Tu Bishvat is also signified by the blossoms of Almond trees.
